Baby’s Size…Week 24

How your baby’s growing:

Your baby’s growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her at just over a pound. Since she’s almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), she cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but her body is filling out proportionally and she’ll soon start to plump up. Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing “branches” of the respiratory “tree” as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help her air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world. Her skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

    Hey Torie,

Thanks for the comment! I do love this part of the pregnancy! I feel so good! As for the bedroom furniture…we got it at Babysrus and it’s the Tuscany Cider set. We got a great deal…basically the second dresser (the taller one) was free when we purchased the crib and lower dresser. So it was a good deal…and then the matress was half off as well. We still have more decorating to do for the walls but I’m too afraid to do too much because I’m sure I’ll get stuff from the shower. Have you guys thought of any names yet? I can’t wait to see you in October! Urs says there will be four of us pregnant there! We’ll be in the non-drinking section sipping on apple cider…LOL!

My god hun you look gorgeous! I arrived on your blog randomly and I really like your posts and your pics as well! I’m a mum of a little boy called Marlow and I really enjoy reading other mummy stories on line. Have you picked a name for baby yet? The name you pick for your baby should be as unique as they are. I remember I spent a lot of time chilling out choosing my baby names. Let us know how it’s going!! Jo and her little Marlow
