If you know me, then you can probably guess where my hope comes from. If not…read on 🙂

“Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” Psalm 25:4-5

There are so many things in life that can leave us frustrated, lost and without hope. We can feel broken to the point of giving up or looking else where for some kind of glimmer of hope. My hope comes from the Lord. I know that even in the trying times I will get through with his help. Whether it’s a death in the family or making tough life decisions, I know that I can put my hope and trust in God.

I by no means am perfect, but I strive everyday to be a little more like him. There have been times where I am so discouraged, but I refer back to his word to remember where I find hope. I am currently going through a situation that is leaving me feeling hopeless. There is nothing I can do but wait on his timing and not my own. Here are some verses the psalmist wrote that help me find hope.

“May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you.” Psalm 25:21
“Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.” Psalm 31:24
“We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.” Psalm 33:20
“May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.” Psalm 33:22
“I will praise you forever for what you have done; in your name I will hope, for your name is good. I will praise you in the presence of your saints.” Psalm 52:9
“Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him.” Psalm 62:5
“But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.” Psalm 71:14
“You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.” Psalm 119:114

My prayer is that you don’t lose hope no matter what you are going through. The Lord knows exactly what your fears, doubts and persecutions are. He knows every tear you shed and every trial you face. I pray that you look to him to find hope and healing through your situation. May you be encouraged, uplifted, and full of God’s hope today, and may God use you to bring hope to another!

Thank you Torie for posting this. I’m having a difficult time as well and your words seem like I was meant to read them…wow 😉 Keep your head up and your heart strong and we’ll get past all that is holding us back.
